Diagnostic Testing

Before developing a plan of treatment, various methods of diagnostic tests help the physicians and physician assistants determine the cause and origin of pain. There are several options available in diagnosing a condition, each with its own specialized benefits. Most commonly used methods include Electromyogram (EMG), Ultrasound, and other medical imaging, such as X-ray, MRI, CT scan, and bone scan. Southwest Spine and Sports offers EMG/NCS testing and Ultrasound in both our Scottsdale and Tempe locations, as well as X-ray in our Scottsdale office. Tests that are not available in our offices can be scheduled at an imaging facility that is convenient for you.

Our Patients

Good morning Doctor Sherman, You asked that I keep you updated on my condition and I am very pleased to tell you that the results with your help have been outstanding.  I have had one Bursa injection and one each left and right side S I joint injections.  Today I can actually walk without pain and I feel the best that I have for over a year and a half.  Thank you so much. Robert C. P.S. (from Alma C.) - I just want to thank you for giving me back my husband; he is actually more himself these past two weeks than I've seen him in two years.  It has been a blessing to have you on Robert's team of pain relief.  Keep up the great work for all your patients.
